Yvonne O’Brien is a South African interior designer whose work has become synonymous with a timeless, classic-contemporary and understated aesthetic.

After studying Interior Design in London, Yvonne returned to South Africa and established Yvonne O’Brien Interior Design in 1999.

For more than two decades, Yvonne and her team have created timeless, highly personal interiors for private residences, holiday homes and exclusive lodges, both locally and internationally. The studio offers a complete turnkey service, from initial concept and design through to procurement, installation and final styling.

Guided by a philosophy of restraint, authenticity and thoughtful design, Yvonne creates interiors that feel effortless, soulful and timeless – filled with natural light, warmth and a sense of calm.

THE PRIVATE HOUSE COMPANY

Yvonne is also the Managing Director and sole buyer for The Private House Company, a leading South African furniture and décor business.

Drawing on her experience as an interior designer and stylist, she personally curates each collection, sourcing distinctive furniture and décor from around the world while designing and manufacturing selected pieces locally.

The Private House Company has stores in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Plettenberg Bay.
